Happy Birthday, One Deep Breath! (Poet's Choice)

bright cacophany
of bird song cascading down
from high --singing trees!
yellow bounding streaks, dart from
birch to box elders,
goldfinches bring a new spring

‘chick-a-dee-dee-dee’
through my kitchen window, in
bare white birch branches,

“yoo-hoo!....yooo-hooo*!” Eyes
open to plum blossoms, in
crooked old tree

*(Do you know this spring song of the chickadee?)

Lovely bucolic piece.
Had to look twice since my mind tends to read "goldfish" for "goldfinches".

I am a lover of trees as well. I had to recently move elsewhere that brought me back my fond memories of the trees I so loved as a child. Nothing like the trees of nature to nest your home in and around :)

Thanks for the memories in your words. Have a great week and fond memories!

I know those trees... the clump birch my favorite. Beautiful, Marti. Eyes open to plum blossoms is wonderful BTW, you've been tagged on quietpaths for fun!
